I cannot believe that we are already at 37 weeks with this pregnancy! I know I keep saying it, but it really is flying by. Henrik could officially come anytime now and it would be totally fine and safe! That’s craaazy. Last week I was having major braxton hicks contractions, every 5 minutes all day on Monday and Tuesday! I even called and they had me come in to the doctor’s office to do a labor check! But it was apparently nothing cause still no baby.. guess my body (and baby) are just practicing for when it’s the real thing. Of course I hope he stays in there for a bit longer! Both mine and Lucas’s families are out of town at the moment so he has to at least wait until everyone is back! But of course he could always have his own ideas, fingers crossed that I’ve got at least a couple more weeks to prepare for baby, and soak up the time we have left as a little family of 3 🙂
Now here are some photos from Christmas weekend!!
WARNING: This post gets very long!!! Sorry if it’s too long.. 😉
Christmas Eve morning is traditionally spent at my Grandma Jan and Grandpa Jamon’s house celebrating with my dad’s side of the family! We have brunch which is eggs, steak (nicknamed “buffalo toes” by our family long ago), cinnamon rolls, fruit, and toast! Parks had lots of fun opening his gifts and helping open others as well 😉
He was pretty dang excited about his piano from great grandma and grandpa!!!
Parks’s Christmas Eve church outfit! Ahhhh I still sometimes can’t believe that he is MINE!! <3
Christmas Eve evening (after church) was spent at my aunt and uncle’s house this year, celebrating with my mom’s side of the family! We always have champagne chicken for dinner with a variety of other side dishes! Yummm!
We also all got to open our traditional pajamas from Grandma Linda, some gifts from aunts/uncles, and all of us grand kids did a Secret Santa gift exchange! It was super fun 🙂
Merry Christmas from the Walkers!
We had a super special/fun first Christmas in our new house as a little fam of 3! Parks loved the wrapping paper the most (obvi) but of course was excited about his new toys too! We got him a basketball hoop which was super exciting! Well, technically Santa got it for him… 😉
We didn’t do a stocking for Parks cause we knew my mom was doing one for him! But Luke and I did do them for each other, so we opened those. Then we exchanged gifts! I got him a nice north face jacket and my Christmas gift actually hadn’t been delivered yet so he wrapped up a hand held vacuum for me which I was actually psyched about! Haha. It’s the little things, guys.
After stockings and gifts we showered and got ready to head to my parents house for the rest of the day!
We got there, drank our orange juice and ate some breakfast burritos! (Both Christmas traditions, the orange juice from when my mom was little!) The rule is you can’t open your stocking until you finish your orange juice 🙂
Then we opened stockings, which is always fun. I think stockings are my favorite! And Parks seemed to enjoy his too!
Once everyone had opened their stockings we started opening gifts! Shortly after we finished that, my sister and her husband got there and we did the stocking/gifts all over again with them! It was a fun morning 🙂
One of Parks’s favorite presents were some squeaky shoes! He was feelin’ pretty dang cool in these babies 😉
We put Parks down for a nap around 11 which was a nice break for a bit!
Our good friend Tyler showed up and brought some gifts and a Starbucks gingerbread house kit so of course we had to work on that for a little while!
We ate dinner around 4/4:30 pm. Prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes, salad, broccolini, and rolls with butter and strawberry freezer jam! I love Christmas dinner, my parents have done this same meal for the past 4 years now I believe and I definitely think it’s my favorite ever!!
After dinner we hung around for a bit longer, my little sister Ellie made some home made hot chocolate flavored ice cream which was delicious so we had some of that!
Then we left and stopped by some of my other family’s house to say hello and see them for a bit before heading home!
All in all it was such a wonderful Christmas! It was Parks’s 2nd Christmas, but the first one where he actually knew what was going on, so that made it extra special! I am so blessed and thankful for all of my wonderful family <3
Just LOOK at my chubby little 4 month old Parks last Christmas! Time flies so fast you guys! We gotta soak up all the littleness while we can❤️❤️
How was your Christmas? Let me know in the comments!
